I established Effleurage & Ki in Bethel, Connecticut on the strength of my more than 25 years of experience in the health care field, both medical and mental health. Effleurage is a French word that means “to skim or touch lightly” and Ki is a Japanese term that means “circulating life energy.”
In 2007 I was introduced to Reiki at Griffin Hospital. Always having an interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine and alternate healing methods I knew this was something I was meant to do and wanted to continue learning about.
In 2008, I advanced as a certified Reiki Practitioner , in 2015 to an Advanced Reiki Practitioner/ Master and in 2018 graduated from Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy and am a licensed Massage Therapist.
I am a member of the International Reiki Association and the AMTA. In the future, I will be expanding my scope of practice to include acupressure, aromatherapy, reflexology and oncology massage.
At a very young age I became fascinated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), meridians, chakras, and energy flow, and how they relate to relaxation and over all wellness.
Disease (dis-ease) in TCM, means “a disharmony in the body and an imbalance of life's energy in the meridians.”
When I was introduced to Reiki in 2007 while I was working at Griffin Hospital , I started believing that Reiki was something I was meant to do. I then attended CCMT and received my license in massage therapy and now feel that it’s time to do what I love, practice more, and help people feel better.
